Upgrade 993 tip, ideas?
 

Hello all

I've got a 96 993 with the tip, now Im getting more and more interested in getting it with manual trans.

I know what everybody is saying, "sell it and buy a manual" - I dont want to buy a new car, I want to upgrade/downgrade my car to manual.

Question, its barely impossible to buy/find a 993 6 gear manual, so Im looking for other options.
For example 996 tranny or even 997ones?
I have read about people done this but seen no building stories, please advice.


Any pointers?

996 tranny does not fit nor 997 unless from GT2 with the same bolt pattern. You can convert to manual with a 993 6 speed G50/20 or 21 if you finde a good one. Calculate for a good one something between 5-8K €. You will need the pedalbox, hydraulic lines, need to swap the chip in motronic with a chip from manual need the gearshift and rod and a differend steering wheel if your tip is a tiptronic S. The whole thing will be somewhere in 12-15K € area. And at the end your car is not a stock original 993 any longer which I would not care if I would not to plan selling it one day and plan to keep it and enjoy it. If you want to do it I can recommand you a good in Germany which has all the parts and is capable doing this.
