964 oil temperature

Dear All,
i have a 964 C4 1991, the oil temperature in race mode, reaches 234 f, and even in traffic is always getting higher so i have to stop to cool down the engine,
the fan is working well, the oil is circulating correctly!!!
i tried to put the fan on high speed always still the same. i am using Mobil 20-50 oil level is ok,
what do you think the problem is?!

Did you try tapping on the oil gauge when it spikes ? My gauge will get stuck at max every once and a while. I can't imagine your car getting that hot with 20w-50 and oil circulating well.

Were do you live, that is what is your ambient temperaturen? If you are cruising at 60 mph in top gear, what temp do you have? Do you have the engine undertray on the car?
