911SC Gas Fume Smell

I have a 1982 911SC and have a strong Fuel Odor coming from the Trunk area of the car. I have inspected the area around the gas tank and fuel intake area and there are no visible leaks. Gas cap seal looks good! Some of the hoses seem to have been replaced but not all. The large rubber connector hose that goes from the Filler Neck to the tank shows some age. Any ideas on how I should proceed

Inspect the area under the tank, where it connects to the fuel pump.
