What am I missing here?

I recently purchased a 2006 Carrera S.

Why can't I find a printed copy of the factory service manual for this vehicle to purchase?

I've seen lots of links to downloadable versions, but I have no idea which ones are legit.

Has anybody used any of these downloads?

Simple: Porsche stopped producing anything in print around 2004-2005. As yours is a 2006, the only place a legitimate copy exists is in the PIWIS system.
