Question 997S Mod list

Making a winter wish list and I've decided on the following. I'd like input on specific brands/models of each if anyone has experience/knowledge. Thanks in advance!

BMC air filter (I'm not keen on fabspeed or K&N)
IPD Plenum
Exhaust (which give best combo of sound, HP and low end torque?)
ECU Flash

I hope to get 40-50 HP gains with this setup. Then I'd also like to get a light suspension upgrade for occasional track use.

Suggestions?

Yes, stop dreaming. It is both difficult, and expensive to get any significant real power gains (read proven on a dyno) on these normally asperated engines. To get that level of improvement, you would need to seriously modify the engine's internal component's.

Sorry to inform you, but the X51 kit which cost about 8K only added about 25hp.

It changed heads, cams, exhaust, and the intake. Pretty much everything but the short block and only gained 25hp.

good luck.

Exactly...Why do people think they can buy a Porsche and slap on a few quick mods for a 50 hp gain. One of the reasons Porsche's are expensive in the first place is that they're properly designed and don't leave a lot of room on the table for power increase. Quick hp gains by means of simple bolt-on's are better suited for Mustangs, Cameros and the like. For the money it would take to net 50 hp out of a 997S you could have just purchased the next level up. See post #2
