Heater does not blow hot

I just acquired a 2002 C2 and have noticed the air blowing from the heater is warm but not hot. The fan is blowing and the A/C is off. I do see some foam pieces in the duct work. The previous owner states hes never had an issue but also lived in Dallas. The car has been in Texas since new.
Thanks

Have you checked the heater core? Perhaps it needs to be replaced?

This is a known fairly common problem with multiple fixes. It is the foam, or loss of it. The heater flap doors are full of holes covered with the foam. It dries out and blows off rendering the flaps unable to seal and divert.
do a search many vids of repairs.

I recently finished replacing the heater core (it was leaking)...and while in there, I removed the vent door and fixed it up by covering it with aluminum tape....heat is nice and toasty now...
