wider tires up front of a 996 C4 2001 Aerokit

How will my performance be affected with 2 sizes large front tires? if at all. 245/35/18

on 8" wheels ( instead of the stock size 225/40) and paired with 295/30/18 on 10" wheels,

Is it worth the try? Any one tried this?

No track just agressive/spirited tweesty roads driving !!

It will improve turn-in and cornering grip, reduce understeer, and reduce top speed slightly. We have experimented with front tire sizes on a 986 (same front end) anywhere from 205-285. I ran in Time Trials with 255 up front for 2 years.

I wouldn't go bigger than 235 F & 285 R just buy the best performance tire available.

Michelins wear out much too fast, and diameter is a factor , in order to keep it sort of even I have come up with General ultra perf summer 245/35 and 295/30 seem to be close

What front shocks were you running? Stock perches and springs seem a little wide, might rub. Coilovers would make it easier.
