996 Transmission Replacement on Carfax

Looking at 996.2. On the Carfax, there is this sequence:

1/05: Transmission replaced, transmission checked, front crankshaft oil seal replaced

6/05: Transmission removed and reinstalled, transmission checked, front crankshaft oil seal replaced, clutch pedal assembly replaced, driveshaft seal replaced

2/07: Transmission checked, transmission removed and reinstalled, front crankshaft oil seal replaced

3/07: Transmission checked, transmission removed and reinstalled

This was all done at the same dealer and presumably under warranty given the date and mileage. I called the dealer to get some more info but they don't have records going back this far. And the current owner bought it long after this time period and doesn't have any records from that time period either.

There are 6 or 7 additional dealer maintenance records on Carfax up to 2013, none involving transmission issues since 3/07.

So, is this a case of carfax putting generic info on their reports that don't really tell the right story a never ending transmission issue and something to stay away from? Car has 20K more miles now than it did at 3/07, hasn't been driven much and 2 additional owners.

Thoughts?

More like a recurring rear main oil seal issue. Perhaps a clutch service also. Remember they have to take the transmission out to get to the clutch or to do any work on the rear main seal and/or IMS bearing.
