lifter noise

I need advise on a 2001 996 70K. I get a lifter noise (bank 4-6) when starting for 10 seconds. This only happens when the car is cold and has set for at least two days. I have never herd the noise when warm or only sat for one day. If I pull the lifters when rebuilding how can you determine which lifter it is. Can you dissemble the lifter and clean? Can you prime and check to see if it retains priming.

Suggestions please

Best way is to submerge lifters in hot clean oil & use a pushrod to compress the lifter, it's easy to see which are reusable & those that should be replaced. I do this for any engine I rebuild. I have a full set ready to go that I will sell .
