996 Coke Bottle Sound from Air Vent

I am periodically getting a sound like someone blowing over the top of a Coke Bottle coming from the passenger side air vent. It comes and goes but usually can be stopped by tapping the accelerator pedal...very weird....

Are sure that it is not coming from the grommet under the fuel flap? Next time get out and cover the hole in that grommet. If so check the evap system for the fuel tank. One of the electromechanical valves is sticking.

I had the same sound coming from the fuel filler. Are you having any difficulty filling fuel or have you filled the tank and give it a "top off" by one more squeeze of gas and had it gush some out? I replaced this part that allowed fuel to flow, but if I do the top off it will gush out so I learned a lesson - don't do it.

Thanks, best I have been able to determine is that it has something to do with the fuel system valves located in proximity to the filler...some have replaced parts with mixed results.
