What's the protocol for a 996 turbo front corner coolant dribble?
 
The front corner of my 2001 996 Turbo has a slight dribble of coolant after / while driving. My car has the leaf grilles fitted and no build-up there so I'm not so much expecting a corroded radiator (also air con is very effective), rather I understand the coolant hoses have crimped ends which come slightly loose due to age-related shrinking of the rubber.

I've a mechanic coming tomorrow to sort it out for me. What's the process here for sorting this?

So I'm expecting the protocol is as follows:
Get car good and hot
Remove front bumpers
Get access to the radiator
Run engine & inspect for leak
If hose, remove hose & take to local hydraulic company to re-crimp the end
If radiator, order radiator, reassemble car and use until parts arrive.

Is that about right?

Is there anything else I should be mindful of or that I ought to do, such as e.g. to not lose too much coolant and to not create airlocks?

Is it a straightforward case of reassemble, fill with coolant and off you go - or does the gas need vacuuming out or some other procedure?

I always vacuum fill. Also, if it's leaking any kind of quantity of coolant, you'll see the residue. Pressure testing the radiator, negative or positive can confirm even small leaks.
