Ignition Lock Issues
My 2003 996 Targa ignition lock is sticking lately not allowing me to turn the key as I rock the steering wheel. It occurs when the car sits inactive for a few days or overnight but will be OK for the rest of the day once activated. I cleaned the key with WD-40 and it seems better now.
I did not spray any lubricant into the ignition lock assembly. Can the ignition lock be lubricated with a PTEF dry lubricant spray or does the lock assembly seem to need replacement? Any thoughts on the matter are appreciated. Thanks Jim Russo |
