996.1 Mirror error codes won't clear
 

I have a 2000 996.1 C4 cab 6-speed. I replaced the wiring harness inside my right outside mirror due to a bad connector. The mirror would not work and generated two error codes (20 & 22). After replacing the harness the mirror works fine both with the mirror switch and the seat/mirror memory. However, the two codes will not clear with my Durametric. I clear the codes and they come right back. I tried disconnecting the battery for 1+ hour with no luck. Looking at the mirror circuit diagram I can't see how the error codes could be generated by the circuit if everything is working fine. So maybe is something in the error code software? Does it need some special clear procedure?

If there still are codes, there still are faults that need to be fixed before they will clear.
