G96 transaxle case swap

I attempted to weld broken case but had problems with warping.

How difficult would it be to swap the case/bell housing on a g96 all-wheel drive transaxle? I've rebuilt engines and swapped differential gears other cars but never opened a transaxle before.

I have an all-wheel drive transaxle with a broken bell housing and want to swap the bellhousing side over from a 2wd transaxle that was in a saltwater flood. The gears and other bits in the saltwater transaxle are rusted.

Any diagrams, work shop manuals and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Swapping the bellhousing on a G96 AWD transaxle isn’t impossible, but it's definitely more involved than a diff or engine rebuild. You'll need to split the case and deal with the AWD-specific internals—transfer gears, center diff.
