Quick q on 996 spin-on oil filters adaptors
I have a new (to me) 2002 996 C4 cab, whose motor was likely* replaced by Porsche as it has the large non-removable IMS bearing (so, in other words, it doesn't have the LN Solution or retrofit). The previous owner also fitted a spin-on oil filter adapter, that currently holds a Bosch 3332 filter — but I don't know if that adapter is the LN one or another. Does anyone know if the LN adaptor was the only one ever produced? Any way to tell without physically removing the adaptor?
* The indy mechanic who was to install LN's IMS Solution reported after dropping the gearbox that the large non-removable IMS was present, and thought it likely that the entire motor had been replaced fairly early on. The vehicle had 55K miles, and seems in excellent shape. |

LN made the first spin on adaptor, and some would argue the best one. Go to LN's website and see if yours looks like theirs.
