Rear window repair.

The driver side rear seat window abruptly stopped working on my 2000 Carrera Cabriolet. There is a lot of information on the web how to repair/replace the regulator. Apparently there is a $30 repair kit on Amazon. With this information I decided to handle the repair myself.

After removing the side panel, I realized the task was more than I wanted to do, it involves partially disassembling the convertible top, and a little black magic to get the regulator out of the car.

I took the car to TRE Motorsports who have done this repair before. After breakdown, Dave told me the regulator went bad and it was NLA. They needed to customize a 997 regulator to my 996.

Fortunately, they were able to get everything back together and considering the size of the job, it didn’t cost as much as I feared. Thanks Dave/TRE for your great work.

Now I’m off to deal with a new problem with the Cayenne.
