Battery Disconnect for longer term storage?
I need to move my 2002 996TT to a storage unit for a couple of months. There is no power in the storage unit, so a trickle charger is not an option. I'm thinking of disconnecting the battery to hopefully prevent a dead battery when it's ready to be moved back. Just wanted to check to see if there are any provisions I should take prior to doing so. As an example, does the radio have a security code that needs to be entered when it's reconnected? This could be a problem because my LED display went out...

Remember, do not close the hood after the battery is disconnected.

Is there a light fixture in the storage unit ? Tap power from the fixture to a battery maintainer .

Disconnecting the battery is a solid move. Just be prepared for the potential need to reset the radio and fob.
