Where is the fuel filter located?
2003 996 cab
40k miles, tires half worn and properly inflated Over the past couple of weeks I have notice my mpg is decreasing. Gas mileage has gone from 18 mpg to 15/16 mpg (I have not changed my driving habits.) I have replaced the air filter. I have even changed my gas station to rule out the free things before I start changing out parts. I want to change out the fuel filter but not sure where on the vehicle it is located. Where on the vehicle is this part located? I have the tools and moderate skills for garage type jobs. Is this a 996 DIY job? I will most likely change the plugs as well. The owners manual advised they need to be changed at 60k service. Any thoughts on this? Your responses appreciated in advance.

Fuel filter is in the tank, does not need changing.
First thing is to have the engine management system read with a Porsche tester and see what the numbers are.
