Anyone recently purchased a new 997?

I'm considering making the major leap to a new 997, wondering if anyone on this forum has gone through the purchase process recently? I test drove a Carrera S last week and was offered a deal at about $8K off sticker for a well loaded example. $102 and change sticker for $94 and change.

Took almost no negotiation to get this offer, basically he said "I'll work out a smokin deal" I said, "Ok so what's the smokin deal?" Plus he'll find pretty much anything in the dealer network that matches what I want, just add a transport fee if he needs to bring it in from a distance.

Are buyers getting 7 or 8% or more like 10% or more off sticker price these days?

Thanks.
Adam

Depending on the year (there are some great leftovers from '08 and '09 still available), you should be able to get as much as 15% off MSRP on a 997 if you're willing to take something other than a '10.

Yeah that's what I'm hearing. The 09s up here go fast and you have to want what they have. Nice thing about a 10 is I can get exactly what I want, plus a few nice features added in the 2010 model. We'll see...I'm keeping my eye out for '08, '09 and 10s...

Take a look at Byer's Porsche in Columbus, Ohio. Last I checked, they had an '08 Cab in basalt black. There might be a pretty good deal to be had...

The new DFI engine got 40% less parts and no IMS, that alone worth way more than 15% savings on the older model. I would think twice.
