Unhappy Cabriolet cover closing

I have a 99 911 Cabriolet and the issue is with the final stages of cover closing. The last part of the sequence is for the cover to pull down over the top and then the dash light goes out. There are no issues with the top operation it is just the cover. The cover doesn't close the final 1" and if I start to raise the top and then reverse it to close, the cover will then close the final 1". (The dash light will otherwise blink if the cover doesn't fully close.) Does a hydraulic hose have a small leak and I'm low of fluid? Defective switch? What do you think? Thanks Bob

Check the fluid first.
Step by step DIY You will have to join to see it. Renntech.org is worth it for the DIYs, TSB, access to manuals etc..

It could be micro switch timing. In that case you will need to read/reset it with the dealers PWIS.

I narrowed down my problem to the passenger side flap. It was operating too slow to hit the last micro switch. I talked with the local Porche Dealer and they suggested to lube up the guide rails first (they can dry out and hang up over time). Things returned to normal operation which is a good thing because to replace the flap motor the entire top has to come out to access the motor (tons of labor!)

Good find. Always nice to fix it yourself and save $$ too.
