Doing clutch on 2002 C2 996, what else while there?
I am ready to order the clutch kit, my clutch is on it's last legs. Car has 74,000kms
I will order the following with the intention of having the mechanic install them while doing the clutch: 1. Air/Oil separator 2. Pelican IMS Retrofit kit 3. Rear main Seal Any other suggestions about what I should be getting done at the same time? Thanks! |
Be ready to change the flywheel?
Porsche TSB 1360 8/02 assessment of DMF… The twist below must be carried out by hand and without any tools. Twist distance to be measured at the external diameter of the DMF Can the DMF be twisted by approx.. 15mm to both left and right, and does it then return to approx. its initial position? If yes good Can DMF be twisted beyond 15mm (excessive turn) without a noticeable increase in the spring force? Yes = bad, no = good |
I am wondering how you decided on the Pelican IMS solution over the L&N?
Cost? |
"I am wondering how you decided on the Pelican IMS solution over the L&N?
Cost? " -Sure, why not go with the Pelican kit? They've made a kit with a reasonable price, and if they didn't believe in it (being Porsche experts) they probably wouldn't sell it right along side competing kits. Is there any compelling reason NOT to go with the Pelican kit that I am unaware of? |
1) It is a new product.
2) L&N has been around for several years and is a proven solution. Just asking how you came to your decision. I like the fact that the Pelican solution is less than half the cost of the L&N |
