US Spec NA 2002 996 Navi challenge

Pelican Team, thanks in advance for your help...

I am currently residing in Germany as a US Expat...and decided to import my 2002 US Spec 996 cab. here for driving ...

long story short ... I went to Porsche directly to purchase a " Euro Nav CD" for my US System...turns out my Navi will not read the "Euro" format...also tried from friends borrowed 997 Navi CD and also a 2002 996 CD aswell... went back to Porsche and was told not possible for 2003 and earlier cars...it was before they standardized the system ...Does anyone have any input before I go out and purchase an aftermarket System like Tom Tom...

I would like to use the factory system currently in the car.

Thanks

PS The German Spec System in the Euro cars "Center Console" Hardware looks totally different then mine...

Hi, I have the same problem, live in Canada and the Nav system on my 02 Targa is not supported here either and there is no way around this other than to purchase an aftermarket head unit with more modern gps system built in.
