HELP Bad Coolant problem 996tt

Ok I was driving home from work in my 2002 996tt I got on it to pass some slow folks when I looked in the rearview mirror and seen a ton of white smoke pouring out. then my temp light started to flash as well as the low coolant warning in center of dash. So i pulled over had it towed to my friends shop.

Today I head over pop out the air box water pump looks ok hoses to pump look ok. So i pour a gallon of water in and it pour right back out immediately it seems to be coming from the top of the motor on drivers side where the motor and trans meet.

I am hoping it is a coolant hose that broke, I wont be able to put it on the lift till thur.

Does any one know where the coolant lines run. Diagram of coolant lines would be great.

Thankshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1352646485.jpg

Well I think this is the problem.

If yours was on the side of the engine where it meets the trans then the Rennlist thread isn't the same problem as I read it. We had a similar problem with a customer 996 GT3 but the metal fitting the hose attaches to became loose from it's press fitting and would not stay in. The guy was going to try and drive 3 hours home and we were able to goop it up a bit and tie wrapt the hose in various ways to keep it from popping back out. He made it back from Watkins Glen OK but the metal hose fitting was replaced and fitted back in by the dealer. I'm not sure if they sealed it somehow to prevent a recurrence. Perhaps there is a similar fitting on the other side of the engine on the TT's. Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm going to try and get it on the lift tomorrow and find out. I hope it's nothing major but if i have to pull the motor I'm going to put a new clutch in.

Here is the problem, going to take the coolant pipe off along with water pump ant power steering pump. Shipping those parts out and having the fittings welded on, not going to glue it to have same problem again. This was located behind the alt.

Make sure you vacuum fill the system with coolant or you WILL blow another line connection.

Use one of these...
