Tracking a 996 Turbo?
Hi All:
I'm looking at a 996 Turbo for a daily driver but want to do about 6 track days annually. How is the turbo on the track? For reference, in the past I've tracked a Lotus Esprit V8, Cadillac CTS-V and a Radical SR3. Thanks in advance. Feff

Fast and fun, but not necessarily the best.
Items that I use to make some basic improvments on the fun and safety factor: Race pads (Pagid Yellow and/or Black). Brake fluid (Motul). Sway bars (H&R) to dial out the factory understeer. GT3 front brake ducts for better cooling. CG sealtbelt lock. |

They are great track cars. And if you are serious about track work with it do the 2wd conversion and install an LSD.

I tracked mine on standard brakes and they were not sufficient. After a few laps, I had to pull in and let the car cool for 30 mins.
I was giving it 99% though, and playing with a few full race GT3's.

Great for chewing up tires once you start going fast
