Pictures after H&R Install...
I wish the Pelican board had more traffic in the 996/997 forums...
Doing my part! Very happy with the H&R spring swap! A few pictures from todays ride... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The improvement in performance is superb, but I'll admit my original motivation was to get rid of the hideous tire/fender gaps with OEM setup... Mission Accomplished! (OEM ride height below... ) ![]() |

Looks fantastic! I too hate the 4x4 look of these cars and think lowering them makes the difference. Did you install the springs yourself or have a shop?

Thanks... Did the install myself. Relatively easy, no special tools.
For me, the tedious part of the job is getting the car up on jack stands, pulling the tires off, and pulling off the front calipers. Once that's done, getting the struts out, swapping the springs, and putting them back in wasn't bad at all. |

Seconding the desire for more...
Your ride height looks great. I have a 996tt and would love to drop it down a bit myself. Do those H&R's come in different heights or are they standard? Yours is perfect. Good job!
I want to also express a desire for more participation on the 996/997 forum. I have been on the 911 tech forum for years and get tons of feed back and access to some true guru's out there. My air-cooled early car has been the joy of my auto existence. Now the Turbo is a real thriller and has that GT characteristic of creature comforts when you want that and monster performance when you have to have it. But can't sell the 3.2 powered 75 911 Carrera. Need a bigger garage!

Nice ride!
Looks great! In the first photo I noticed some familiar rocks in the background.
![]() You getting any grief for not having a front plate? Wish we didn't HAVE to have them here... See you at some of the local PCA events? Best, Bill Lena and Kason |

On the plates, the *only* place I get hassled is on-street metered parking in Denver by the extremely nasty parking enforcement kids. Lodo/Confluence park for example pretty much *guaranteed* to get a no license plate parking ticket. Other heavily parking-patrolled areas like Cherry Creek, South Pearl, same thing. $70! So I avoid parking on the street in those areas... Public or private parking lots and no issues. The police and state patrol could care less in my experience... I haven't had front plates on most of my vehicles for the majority of my 25 years in Colorado, and *once* during that entire time did an actual LEO say anything about it, and it was just a warning. Also, since you don't seem to get photo radar tickets without a front plate, it probably evens out with the once a year or so I get hit with a front plate parking ticket... |
