996 wheel locks

I had new tires put by swire tire in Ripon, ca last year..I confirmed with them that they put the wheel locks in the trunk. Now I have the car in the body shop for a damaged wheel and suspension evaluation (I hit a brick) and the wheel lock is missing.
1. are wheel locks standard on a 2002 996?
2. If they are or not, how do I get the lug nuts off?
Thanks for your advice.

Unfortunately with many modern vehicles the only way to get the locks off without damaging them is with a master set or or getting a replacement key which would require knowing the key code from the missing key.

There are other ways shops can remove the locks but almost always it requires damaging them.

wheel locks

Thankyou for the response. We managed to find the lock socket rolling around in the trunk. I have less comfort in using lock because of this episode.

In my opinion wheel locks are a waste as they only keep honest people honest . If a pro thief wants your wheels he has the right tools to do so . Make it hard enough to steal them he takes the car .

get a set of these. Surprised your shop doesn't have them.
