Best 997 to purchase? What are differences per year in 997.1s?

Looking to buy best 997 but unclear on difference per MY. Hear 07 over 06 but not sure why. Cab v coupe? S v nonS? Best options to have?

I had a base 2006 997 (midnight blue). Beautiful car that was a dream to drive.

Clearly, cab vs. coupe is a personal decision only you can answer

My base coupe had more than enough power for me. Your needs may vary; however, for the money my base with sport chrono was a great car

Options are a personal preference. Some people call the sport chrono a wart...I liked it. Most any options are a personal preference. My car did not have litronics. I would have liked those.

I have an 08- coupe ; 6 speed, sports seats, 19's and a few other goodies- in my opinion, for the price, the late 997.1 cars are an Amazing value.

I had many p cars Over the years and always was an air cooled guy but honestly- I enjoy this car more than any other. It rides on rails, has exceptional steering, great seats and has all the modern conveniences and safety

Mileage makes a big difference in sale price, but as others are alluding to, it's not so much the year that makes the difference as it is the options on each specific car. Otherwise the 997's were mostly unchanged from 05 thru 08. The main difference by year would be in mid-05 they switched to a different IMS bearing design which is very unlikely to fail but it also cannot be upgraded without tearing down the engine. The early 05's with the older IMS bearing design are more likely to fail, but it's still pretty rare, and as a plus it can be easily upgraded after dropping the tranny. I sought out one of these on purpose so I could put in a upgraded bearing. Just find the best taken care of car that you can with the options that you care about.

the answer is - the best one you can afford.
cab/coupe - only you can answer that as it is a matter of personal preference.
