Where to get convertible top headliner fixed?
Hi all -
The headliner on the inner side of the folding top of my 2000 996 Cabriolet is sagging/coming apart from the outer part of the convertible top. This is only occurring on the sides of the cabin near where the top meets the side windows... no sagging issues in the middle of the roof, near the windshield, or near the rear plastic window. Im not sure whether the repair for this is simply gluing the inner headliner back against the outer piece, or if there are cables/clips that need to be adjusted. I am 40 miles away from the car otherwise I would take a pic (hopefully will be able to get a pic of the issue this weekend). My question is -- where should i take the car to get this fixed? I spoke to the local Porsche expert (highly regarded shop in Freeport, NY) but they are not experienced in fixing cosmetic issues with convertible tops. Are there any Porsche convertible top experts in the New York metro area? I found a place that is close and says they fix convertible tops - is it safe to have work done at a generic convertible top place like this? - Sunroof Repairs | Custom Upholstery | 3M Paint Protection | Westbury NY |
