The best way to drop the 996 at 1''.

I have a 1999 996 6sp coupe and have kept the stock 17" Turbo Twist rims.
However, the rears I had cut and made them wider with about a 74 offset.
Everything went towards the center of the car. 295's in the rear and 225's front.

I don't track and would like to lower the car an inch or two.
Nothing radical but with the 295/35/17's the car has the normal profile.
I want to bring it down 1".

What is the best solution?
The suspension is stock and no changes/replacements or upgrades with
90K.
Thanks for your ideas.

Depending on whether you need shocks, you can replace with a complete system as mentioned above (M030 or PSS9). If the shocks are OK you can replace the springs with H & R or something similar to lower. If the car has over 75k, you should replace the shocks too and do it once as the car will need a corner balance and 4 wheel alignment too.

Joe with Joe's recommendation. The M030 will improve your handling and control along with lowing your car about an inch. It's not for the ill minded and people with dental issues. You will feel every bump but man does it recover quickly and take turns like a bat out of hell. Missed my C4 with the M030.

Eric Vaughn in Monrovia, Calif. He does a lot of wheel mods for the speedsters like
the time trials at Bonneville.

I have 91K on the 996 so, the shocks are going to be replaced also.
Thanks for the tips fellas.
