New 996 owner need shop referral in San Diego

So I went ahead and bought this car with a bad gearbox. I found another box and need a reference to an Indie someone can vouch for in San Diego who can swap the box out. I could probably DIY but without a lift probably rather pay someone.

The car is a 99 996 6 speed manual with 95K. I will post some pics this weekend.

I like Joe at European Motorsports in Vista.

I've have my 911 and 944 in his shop and I'd use him again.

One think I like about European Motorsports is I can call the shop and tell them what I need, then drop the car off at night and leave the keys in the key box, pay the bill with a credit card when its done and then go get the car at night and never have to be at the shop during working hours.

I've done this a couple times.

Jae Lee at Mirage. He's a gearbox specialist.

Rolling in here a wee bit late but this thread is worthless without a prop for Black Forest and Mark Kinninger's ability to rebuild a tranny with his eyes closed. He literally had my 915 disassembled inside of 5 minutes and his experience base spans all models. Jeff at the front counter will treat you right and John Rickard, the owner, is as honest as a 'summer day' in Alaska is long.
