High voltage, lots of issues. 01 turbo.
Ok, so..started driving the car and within 20 min I got a battery light, brake distribution, brake generator, psm, abs and the car would not make any boost. Pulled over and shut the car off. Started up fine, and started driving. Happened again. This time I noticed the battery gauge was pegged out at 17.
Got the car home and pulled the codes. All I had was cats and o2 sensors. ( I have straight pipes) and now the car won't even start. Strong fuel smell. Disconnected the battery for 15min. I did notice the battery was hot and I could see fluid going through the overflow tube. Reconnected the battery and the car started fine. Idled fine. Drove it and within 20 feet all the lights went off again. Car started with 13-14v and gradually went to Max again. 17+ still makes no boost. I ordered a voltage regulator, and will try that in a couple days. Anyone else with experiences or ideas? Last edited by Vglnte1; 06-21-2015 at 12:19 PM.. |

Change the voltage regulator (lives on/in the back of the alternator) or buy a new/rebuilt alternator.
