I have a CEL P0455 and found this DIY while doing a search. The cars is a 2002 986 S. I've taken the car to two shops o detect the leak. One shop is a Indioendant Porsche shop. Was not able to if d the leak. Then2nd shop is a Smog certified and they performed a smoke leak detector. They were not able o find the leak. The gas cap have been changed 3x. The second cap was after market from the smog shop just o try. After driving 6 miles the CEL came on. With the OEM it took days before it came on. I'm on my 3rd cap which is another OEM.
Could this vent line be culprit? Anyone else had this problem? __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: |

Usually if I can't find the leak, and the cap tests good, the EVAP canister purge valve needs replacement.
