$99 Scan Tool Does it work? or too good to be true

Lemur Monitors - BlueDriver - OBD2 Bluetooth Scan Tool for Apple and Android Smartphones and Tablets

This place lists 996 Porsche as being compatible. I have a 996 Turbo that throws out ABS warning light when I hit speeds above 80 or 85 mph. It would be nice to hit my iphone and kill the light w/o going to my indy. Has anyone tried these?

Depends upon how you define "compatible". If it means you can only read generic global OBD codes, yes, it is compatible. if it means you can both seenand clear common Porsche protected code areas (air bags, PSM/ABS, etc.) or read pertinent real time data (cam deviation values, etc.) activate systems (VarioCam, etc.), then the answer is "no"; for that you need a Porsche specific system such as the PIWIS or Durametric system.

According to Lemur one can both read and clear.

Yes, but read and clear what? If it is global OBD II codes, just about any scanner can do that, even the $10 variety. But can it read and reset Porsche Airbag codes, or ABS codes? If not, you will still be looking for another system after you pay for this one.............

Porsche uses completely unique diagnostics logic for many systems, including the ABS system, which very few systems can even see, much less clear. Before spending any money, ask the vendor to supply a written money back guarantee on the system being able to access and clear any Porsche system codes, and see what kind of response you get. I'll bet it won't be a good one.................

You want this:

Autel Maxidiag Elite MD702

My friend just bought one and confirmed it cleared his air bag code. It should also work for abs light. A bit more than $99 but not too bad

More importantly, why does your Turbo through those codes? Are the front rear OA diameter tire sizes with-in 3% of each other?
