Need help to replace the hood and trunk release with
 

Looking for any insight into how to replace the hood and trunk release with on my 2005 997S. I'm not sure how to remove the black plastic panel that surrounds the with by the drivers seat. I'm afraid that prying it off will break something. Appreciate any help. Thanks, Jim

Thanks! It was very helpful. Took me about 45 minutes. As the various posts indicated, the part that takes time and patience is removing the switch from the panel. Thanks for your help! Jim
