All In Autos in Norco, California
Greetings,
I am looking for a RWD 996 Coupe. It does not have to be trophy wife grade, as I am to use it for track days primarily. This place seems to have several of them. Does anyone have experience with them, sales or otherwise? If I found one I like I would need a PPI. Since I am in the Midwest a referral for that service would be very helpful. http://www.allinautos.com/inventory Thanks, Jason P.S. Besides the IMS and RMS issues are there any other things I need to zero in on before making a 996 my tool of choice for HPDE stuff? |

Hi Jason - try posting in our Classifieds section; you'll likely get a lot more eyes on the 996 there. Also, if you're looking for someone in a specific state/area, post in our Regional Forums - make sure to include the city/state in the title of the thread. Best of luck and post some pictures when you get one!
Have a great Thanksgiving! -Dmitry |

I had recent experience with these guys, and I would steer clear unless you know what you are doing. They claimed to have no knowledge of a car I was interested in as it "just came from auction"--but as I was taking the car away for a PPI, a lower-level employee offhandedly said I would love the car since they just "pulled the head"--already changing story. Red flag one! I then noticed the oil pressure was pegged but there was no warning light. Red flag two. I took the car to a local mechanic for a PPI and he immediately noted that the throw out bearing was shot and that the car would need all new brakes and a clutch--fine I knew that was possible. But when we got the car on the rack, sure enough they had done some work on the heads, and there were the common leaks at the engine-transmission, and we couldn't even get the deck lid open. Seemed like someone just did enough work to get it running--It was obviously a no-go for me, and the mechanic only charged me for a half hour--even he said to pass on the car. Personally, I would rather get a car with no history than one someone had tinkered with just enough to sell. I just couldn't trust them. As I say, they are a real buyer beware type of place. The cars look much better in their photos than real life. You might get a good deal if you don't mind buying someone else's patched up problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
