... and front 996 RSR mud flares:

These front corner flares I'll probably will rebuild one day: they didn't come out as nicely as rear flares. But now we go with these, as they do protect from mud, gravel and stones...

When asking inspection certificates from KWsuspension, I found out, that instead of having K3 variante 3 in my 996, it got slightly better KW setup under it:

KW Clubsport 3-way suspension w/ top mounts - Porsche 911 GT3 RS type 996, 2004-2005

Sometimes happy surprises!

I start to work more with this engine: as if opening it also for inspection and bearing change, I can also get some stroke crankshaft for 3.8, 3.9 or 4.0L capacity. As having all these mods finished I'll expect to have some 350hp or more... 9ff was promising 415hp in those days they did exist, but I would be happy with some 996 GT3 Mk 1 360hp ish result... This is to be seen then .

This is similar to oem to get rid of

This is similar to oem 996 GT3 Mk1 intake I am going to install with GT3 mk1 throttle body.
The 996 3.4 engine has the thinnest cylinder walls of any M96/M97 engine so not recommended to go longer stroke without sleeving with stronger billet alloy sleeves. I have a 2001 engine that is sleeved to 3.6Litre by 99mm cylinder bores for sale completely rebuilt for $15,000 US.

I see what this can take with gt3 intake manifold and throttle body. I quess it will be good for some over 320+ hp in this way... if more than 360hp (GT3 Mk1 3.6L) I would be surprised. After one or two years of every day driving I am rather replacing this 3.4L engine with something like M97.74 Engine Porsche 911 997 4,0 GT3 RS 368 kW 500 PS M97 M9774 or something like it: there is such engines available in Europe in around 18-22 000 euros, and this way I can have easy 500hp in it with Mezger case. Thank you anyway for your offer.

After this 3,4L M96 engine is developed with these mods I am now doing, if it is still ok after 2 years of very day driving, it can find its place in some nice Boxster of mine . 320+hp or more makes Boxster S more nice for mid engine car... If it is gone, so then it is gone... But this car will be developed to be nice streetable 996 RSR with plenty more Cup car parts in suspension and brakes during the years with some other, probably Metzger engine...

Last sketch for a color plan of my every day ride. Dream to get it finished before winter:

I am considering painting my OZ Ultraleggeras (now black) to magnesium gold and keeping Victor Innsbrucks in silver (for winter stud tyres) and ATS whlle for semis in gunmetal grey as they are.

I did some progress dipping red parts of lower part body (also protection for winter driving for ground hits and stone chips). Quite happy for result, surface quality is not yet perfect (some dip paints are not only rubber but also rubbish), but any part can be quickly redone if some wear or I don't like final quality.

The front of this looks amazing - the whole car is amazing.

But those air intakes on the front bumper really balance the whole front end look of the car.

Thx!
I also like the way how 2002 RSR mk1 front completes the 996 mk1 front end: it reminds me of 996 GT1 front. Earlier I thought of 996 mk2 lamps would be better, but with this factory RSR front bumper and wide RSR front wheel archs I do like 996 mk1 headlights very much. Street legal registration to Finland is complete .

Still missing -73 RSR "Targa Florio" Martini decals, but getting there...

996 'office' is ready: with floor mounted Cobra Misanos, deep dish steering wheel (removable) with high column and 40mm more rear as standard mounted CAE shifter project is complete. I got desired very 928ish endurance racing driving position to 996 with my long legs and long back (I'm 190cm tall)... Very comfortable for long working drives to work in this 'office'. Also adjustable tablet arm comes far enough from dashboard to be reached even in race belts...

This car is not supposed to be so much of track car as our other 911 cars are, but rather something like these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MS-Oul4a9g

First 10 000 km full in our daily drive: very refreshing and uplifting driving experience: one would say, hard, noisy and ascetic, but from my point very motivating drive: quite ok in city, great in main roads regardless of speed, excellent in b-roads at any speed...
...works also great with stud tyres in snow, first impressions got in Lapland... Excellent daily driver, some variety and edge between Quattro sessions .

Martini decals still missing, and some engine development to do, but quite ready to drive around.

Maniac.

Did you spray or brush the dip coating?

Thx! I did spray dip paints. I wouldn't want to get my paint brushes dirty with such stuff. And it looks lasting with high pressure washes and really gives stone chip protection. I made quite thick (many layers over layers, at least 6 or more) dip paint just because of that to maintain original paint better over winter. I am now considering using satin clear dip (my grey paint is satin) for front fenders, front bumper and front hood. But probably after I do Martini decals.
