Engin Noise
I have a 2001 C4 with about 85K miles. I have had the car for about 5 years with little trouble and use as a daily driver. About a year ago I noticed an engine clicking type noise that seems to go away over 5K rpm, however at idle it’s quite loud. I am definitely burning more oil then normal and the car is smoking heavily every time I start it up when cold.
The dealership thinks it could be a slipped ring and recommends a complete replacement.  Any suggestions? |
