gearbox when engine cold

I have a 1998 996 tip and find that when the engine is cold ie. before it gets to 80º the gearbox wants to drive in 5th gear @ about 55kmh (35 mph). When it shifts into 5th the revs fluctuate and the ride is not what you would call smooth. Best thing i find is to use the tip and manually select 4th until the engine heats up. Has anyone else got this issue ? I know that the ZF gearbox in this model has only 5 driving maps therefore may not be an issue more normal driving map. Has anyone got any thoughts on this ?
