Source for RSR rear shock parts and work?

Gang,

I've managed to get my hands on some raised spindle Beilsteins and rear threaded shock body RSR struts.

I would like to have them checked (as I don't know their condition) and valved to my setup. Also, I don't have the spring perches for the rear shocks. Any idea where I can get the labor, and parts for this?

THanks,

Chris

I had a set awhile back and I looked into having them rebuilt. Bilstein definetly will do it. I thought a few more places popped up when I did an yahoo search. I don't remember the prices, but I recall it was reasonable.

I'm sure they'll have the parts too. If not, they didn't look too complicated to have made (if other aftermarket perches won't work).

Looks like REnnsport and TRG carries and services them...

Chris, Bilstein in Cali will refurbish the shocks and struts, and are reasonably priced. Also let them know the weight bias and power of your car and they will valvle them to suit..

Tim - you mean I don't have to send them to Germany? I have old RSR shocks all around and the rears need to be rebuilt. This is good news!

Bilstein USA motorsports division is right here in Poway, just outside San Diego, CA. Contact info is at their website here. It looks like they have an "Oval Track Technical Center" for the Nascar crowd in Mooresville, NC. That appears to be much closer to you, and possibly they could rebuild your shocks??? Hopefully the car won't just turn left when they're done!

LOL ... That would be distressing!

yeap send them to Cali....

Have your cars front and rear weights, and HP, and they will valve accordingly. I believe its $55 per... and a few bucks more if you need any internals replaced...not a bad deal really.

Called them yesterday because I am going to revalve mine when I change spring rates in the near future. Seems that prices have gone up- they quoted me $75/ea. for the fronts and $65/ea. for the rears. Still not a bad deal compared to new ones...

Not only that, but other outfits charge at least $100 per. Is the valving nomenclature standard? For instance, SMART racing recommends an F30/R30 setup for my car... Would Bielstein understand that?

rs911t 12-09-2003 11:24 AM

The valving is stamped on mine. 170/180? That sound right?

TimT 12-09-2003 04:49 PM

Chris, I believe the smart racing markings represent smart racings unique valving...

Greg the 170/180 sound right. Those number represent bump and rebound, what they mean exactly I dont know, not sure what the units are...
