G stock racing question?
I have an 79 SC that I am going to setup for G stock PCA racing and the previous owner ran the brake ducting from the front bumper, through the front trunk panel and then through the strut box's to the rotors. He did this instead of having the brake ducting hanging under the car.
Is this legal for G or F stock? The rules state that brake ducts are free but doesn't say anything about the routing path????? Help???

There's no specific guidance as far as I know in the rules. The "prepared" rules say that ducting for additional coolers is OK as long as it doesn't change the size and shape of factory panels. I suppose that covers a hole in the hood for the oil cooler. Anyway, if you aren't changing the size or shape of the trunk walls I wouldn't think it would be a problem. How big are the holes? I would be concerned that a hole in the side of the trunk under the shock mount would weaken the chassis.
The best way is to email Lance Weeks for a ruling.
