Willowsprings This Weekend
 

Is anyone going to Willow springs this weekend? I will be racing there with VARA. Should be a great event. Over 20 Vintage 911's and 914's should be there.

Phill Hill, Carrol Shelby, and Dan Gurney will also be there to run some laps in some real Historic cars. Should be very cool to see.

Mark, Is there a website for VARA and their schedule of races? I am hoping to make it out with my son this summer to a few events that are in SoCal. This weekend is a bust though.:(

It would be great to get you and your son out to our events.

Mark, I would love to come out for a few hours and meet you and the other VARA guys -- is there a particular day/time you would recommend? I would love to see the historic guys run which looks like mid-day Saturday?

Chris, Saturday is the best day to come out. More action. Our Morning session is a qualifying session based on fastest lap time. That will grid us for Saturday afternoons race. We run at 10:30 Satruday morning and 3:15 Saturday afternoon.

Definately come on out and stop by.

I'll be there trying to keep up! Of course I'll also have my 3 rookies in tow.

Anyone considering trying vintage racing should come out Sat and stop by our pits. We've got three drivers new to Vintage Racing. My Dad's not really new but this will be his 3rd race weekend back since an 8 year break. He's running a white '67 2.0L. Brand new to racing of any kind and with one weekend under her belt is my Mom in a '71 BMW 2002. She's having a BLAST. And never in an organized race before (though he's done lot's of DE events, etc.) is a friend of mine joining us for the first time this weekend in his '70 BMW 2002. They'll graduate into REAL (Porsche) race cars soon enough!

Anyway- come by and talk to them about what it's like to show up for the first time. It may help your decision to come play with us!

We'll be with Mark and the Beck's crowd somewhere near turn one. Look for my Red #12 911, my Dad's White #2 911 and the two BMWs.

I'll be there with my Alfa. I can usually stay ahead of half the Porsche's but you front runners sure spoil my fun. See you guys in a few days.

I'll try to make it Saturday as well; maybe 10am-2pm or something like that. Sounds like some good action in that timespan.

Tyson, I have some door hinges to pick up from Dave soon. He ordered them for me for my fiberglass doors I bought from him a few weeks ago.
I will hunt you down and say hello then.

Man I only live about 2 minutes from Dave's shop. I got my car chilling in my garage. Lets hook up for some drinks one night and day with Jack and shoot the poop.

Well, the racing was awesome! You top 5 Porsche's are soooo fast, but lookout, I'm coming! The highlight of my weekend was extra late braking Milt Minter into turn 1 and pulling away. Vintage911Racer, got any video? You passed me Sunday morning, was there the video camera on?
