This corner balance sound right?

Well interesting. I finally just set the corner balance independent of the ride height and came out with 23.5" rear, 24" front ride height. (+/- .25")

1388# cross weights each side.... Perfect.

Corner weights are

LF 560 RF 588
LR 800 RR 828

Scales are showing too much weight, but I calibrated them to me... Strange... My car ain't no 2700#!

I don't know why the scales would be wrong...your car is 2700lbs. One way to check is to drive over some truck scales (with or without your towing rig).

Chris

Sounds like you put to many coats of paint of those purdy new fiberglass pieces.

Glenn, Completely stripped racecar, fiberglass all the way around, and it weighed 2100# two years ago. Once again, ain't no way it's 2700#. Stupid bathroom scales.

Tim, I added 40# of roll cage and 30# of fiberglass, and took off 110# of steel.

Mike... sheesh, paint's too thin already!

I assume you are using the ruggles type scales? These use leverage to multiply the weight, by four. They also multiply the error, by four.

You calibrated them to yourself, at what 170 lbs? Cheap bathroom scales aren't that linear. Youd be better off calibrating using something that is very close in weight to the actual corners.

So given a combination of non-linear scales and 4x the error. I can see a 600 lb discrepency.

No really, it has to be the scales man! I'll stop in at the truck place on my way to work in the AM and ask if they will let us on the scale...yeah?

LOL...

They have scales at the tracks, so I'll get the car on there to be sure.

I did find a few empty Guiness bottles in the garage that I can't explain... Perhaps Phoebe's been tipping on the sly...

I'm assuming that while the scales are clearly off a bit, that they are off consistently from one to the next. The total weight got higher as I honed in on the right balance. It read like 2100# this morning, by day's end the car had found 600 additional pounds!
