Weltmeister Camber Plates?
Hey all,
Anyone have experience with the Weltmeister Camber Plates? I'd like to hear any comments people might have about them. Pros, Cons, etc. Thanks! -Josh2 |

I have them and they seem like reasonably nice pieces, although they were installed by the PO so I can't attest to the before/after difference or the installation procedure.
You might look at the Tarret version as one alternative and I also "think" that Elephant Racing (Chuck Moreland) has a monoball style setup with a somewhat diferent design.

Also I should have mentioned that if ultimate adjustability and rigidity is your objective, you should probably go with welded-in camber boxes. However, they are not legal for some race sanctioning bodies/classes.

I'm interested in getting a little more camber, but the cost/benefit ratio at $500 isn't that high if all I can get is maybe an extra 0.5 degrees negative camber.
If you have a set of the weltmeister units, can you measure the OD of the boss that the bearing sits in. My understanding is that it's no smaller than the factory camber plate. And yes, my sanctionaing rules allow me to slot the mounting holes, but I cannot enlarge the center bore for the top of the strut. Thanks! -Josh2 |
