data logger or performance g-meter

I am looking to purchase a simple and cheap data logger/performance meter that will record lateral, braking, and acceleration g's to use at DE events to monitor my progress.
I would like it to be able to download to a lap top or PC and possibly keep track of lap times as well.
I have used/borrowed the new G-tech and did not find it impressive at all. I was looking for something a little more accurate and professional in its capabilities, especially when downloading and storing data for analysis later on a pc.
Don't know if this is the right forum for this, so will post it on the autox forum as well.
Links or websites to check out are what I am looking for with personal opinions on devices as well.
Thanks,

We use http://www.extremegeez.com/ and love it. You can go to this thread and scroll down to the post by David Borden (my hubby) for a good write up http://corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6718&highlight=extreme+geez

Whoa, data logging is getting into serious racing I think? If you are doing this to have fun, I'd say get a good incar video system such as RaceCam and you can easily watch what you are doing and where you8 make mistakes, etc. Makes great videos for the family too!

The racecam is very expensive.

My (very biased) opinion is you can do better for
less money using 2 cameras and mixer. Very
flexible depending on what you want to see.
AutoXcam cameras are amazing for the inside-
the-car lower light areas.

Picture-in-Picture processor
(Bias disclaimer, I am the designer of this)

AutoXcam
(I supply them)

Back to original topic: Also, AutoXcam will have their own
data overlay box very soon, you can see some of it on the
samples on the web site.

MArk,
That's a very cool set-up. I always thought of the two camera PIP and would love to have one camera pointing at my face.

Why do you want to see your face? I guess I never thought
that would be useful.

On the other hand, when my distributor was testing my
first prototype, he didn't plan ahead with the mounts, and
ended up pointing at the driver's face. Both drivers of that
car thought their expressions while driving were really
funny. Somewhere between :D and

I'm getting a bunch of samples this weekend myself, (Zone
1 auto-x), and tomorrow starts with helmet cam + foot cam.
Should be cool.
