SVRA Finale at VIR
Anyone else going to the SVRA monoposto finale at VIR 10/14 - 17/04? Mr. Cramer? Juan? We are bringing a couple of cars. Should be a great weekend.
285 drivers, at least 300 entries. Some incredible machinery. Jason Last edited by jase007; 10-08-2004 at 06:50 AM.. |

Jason,
I don't race with SVRA yet. What is it like? Can you give me a thumbnail sketch of the classification structure? p.s. Saw your dad at the Lime Rock Club race. After a TORRENTIAL downpour had passed I saw him drive through the paddock in an immaculate 356! Awesome!

John:
Your '71 911 would be in group #8 BP [B production] for 2.0L - 2.2L. This would include cars like 911R, 911S, 911E, Datsun 260/280 up to 2.8L, '86-88 RX7s, MGB V8s 3.5L, Morgan +8 3.5L, 914-6GT 2.0L, 924 Turbo, 924S 2.5L, '82-88 944 2.5L, TVR all V6. No slicks or "cheater" DOT sticky rubber. Minimum 2/32" tread and 45 series aspect ratio. Full treaded racing tires or DOT radials allowed. Class has sports sedans / cars prepared to 1973 SCCA spec or earlier. There are SVRA supplemental guides for specific cars. Need a competition license from HSR, HMSA, VSCDA or any pro racing org or proof of completion of authorized 3-day racing school (e.g. Skip Barber). I don't think PCA CR license qualifies but I really don't know. I went the racing school route years ago and got the joint HSR / SVRA super license. That speedster is a '58. Here is an old shot from Rennsport Reunion I at LRP in the "B" paddock, aka "ghetto" paddock ![]() ![]() Jason |
