GGR AX @ the 'stick 3/12

it is the opening event of the year! its been a long wet winter and i for one am REALLY looking forward to getting out and scrubbing some rubber off my tires.

should be a long course at the stick with all the room, and the weather appears at this point to be just right.

roll call, who's in????

toby

Look for me with the white 911E with the 3.0 grill badge. #332. I switched to my racing tires which are, unfortunately, mounted on 'phone dial' wheels. You can't miss me.

My schedule is pretty busy, but I'm going to try & make it so I can practice all those newly-learned skills from the AX school 2 weeks ago, or not as the case may be

Silly question- is it possible / OK to stay for half the day (i.e. just do morning runs, or just do afternoon)? If I come for the afternoon is it still possible to walk the course during registration?

You can run either half day, or both. I don't think you get a price break or anything though. Then again, for $20 how could you?

I am in and can't wait! I have new wheels, Billys and the Turbo Tie Rod kit so I am hoping to see some nice improvement in the front end.

Who knows though, it's all a wildcard called "me the driver"

you can as chris states run either or. i would recommend morning though, you can get there early enough to walk the course that way. at times if you come in the afternoon you end up sitting and waiting for the run group they stick you in. more often thats the last group to run to make sure you work.

I am now on the set up crew. So, while Toby is still dreaming about the chick in the bar the night before, I will be helping make sure everything is set up for you all

I heard they give all track set up workers 3 free runs in the morning.

Right!

Hey Chris - does that mean we might see you at Thunderhill, April 9th and 10th?? You could also sign up for the Saturday DE and all you need is a helmet, gloves and a long sleeve shirt.

Hey Ross, long time no see. I'll try to make it to the ground school on the 26th. If I do, I'll sign up for the DE and buy gloves. I hope to see you there!

Hey Chris - glad to hear it! BTW, ground school, while very important, is not required for the Saturday DE's.

EDIT: I Just read the material on the link I provided above, and it does appear that Ground School is required. That must be new this year.

it is as always been required. NO EXCEPTIONS. the president of the Loma Prieta PCA region was in my GS class in feb of this year even though he had tracked and stewarded other Loma events.

k911sc, you are correct. For the Time Trial Series it has always been required. However, in the past there have been one day DE's that did not require it - I attended one in 2003. That's no longer the case though.

See you at the track.
