Elkhart Lake disaster
This was from this past weekends Brian Redman vintage races. This is crazy! One of the reasons I am leary of participating in vintage racing. Heres the link:http: //www.pbase.com/atrltd/bric2005

everyone was OK from what I was told. Some were taken in for observation but all were OK from what I was told. ![]()

I always miss the action. This must have happened on Sunday. Friday and Saturday were mostly clean with little action off the driving line, luckily. Chris caught some action from others "off roading".
Was this the class you were in, Chris with the "large" engine 911? If so, maybe being in the back was a good thing. Is that the pole sitter (vette, Donahue) in the wreck? Is this not at the outlet of the pits on the front straight?

Good lord. Looking at this, I can't get the vision of the last HSR race I saw at Sebring. There was an incident early Sunday. Turn One at the start, and witnessing it is unreal.
GREAT TO HERE EVERYONE WAS OK. For me, reading this is also like reading FAA acident web page. Hope I can always continue to learn, and apply it. Sincerely ![]()

I guess the worst part is this was an avoidable accident....
...but no one was seriously hurt fortunately. I was car #27 in this group. The previous weekend I was running 1:31.3's there, after swithcing to the vintage tires the best I could muster was a 1:35.9. I'm glad I couldn't find more time because another .5 seconds faster of qualifying time and I would have been in the middle of it. Talk about dodging a bullet. Cars 10-26 were involved.... so i'm pretty sure I was the first one to make it through. Worst accident I've ever seen. 16-17 cars badly damaged.

Wow thats is a scary sight to see, radios would come in handy for this sort of thing. I read on another board that there is a hill and the other drivers were unable to see what was ahead until it was to late.
