TRG Swaybars - anyone using them?
 

I recently purchased a track only 911. It has TRG adjustable sway bars front and rear. Has anyone had any experience using them? How do they compare with Smart Racing bars? I've only had experience with the SRP bars, which I like very much.

I have them; I've heard the SRP bars are better, but by how much, I couldn't tell you. These are the only aftermarket bars I've ever used, so I have nothing with which to compare.

Hi Ken,

I've sold the 3.6 motor and the WEVO tranny already. Scott Yeaman and I will next be finishing the paint and bodywork on the tub and reassemble the car as a finished car sans motor and tranny. It will have an oil cooler and oil tank in it, but no plumbing run so that the new owner can run the lines as they see fit.

I hope to have the tub ready for sale in 6 to 9 months.

Pretty sure Scott has a new winter project after this past weekend. If it is the Scott I am thining of he had a big off in turn one during SundayQualifying.

I never got a close look at the car after that, I know he was OK because I saw him walkling around. A reall bummer, he has had some trouble getting that car sorted and it was running great that weekend.

Assuming it is the same guy.....

I've got TRG bars on my 930. They work well but can be pretty noisy, they "clunk" when they move side to side (this could be solved with a plastic spacer). Another problem with their rear bar is that the bolt that holds the end to the bar points down and hangs really low, I have scraped it several times going over speed bumps, which means that the bolt and nut are trashed and will be a pain to remove. If they had made the bolt point up and had used a couter sunk head the problem would be solved.

Yup, Scott had a big "off" over the weekend. It's a good thing he runs a body shop, or he'd never have time to fix that and help Bill get his tub prepped.

Yeah...Scott's car took some lumps. I've already offered to help him whenever I can. We'll probably get things going on his car first...although he told me to bring over my tub to his house next week so he can start working on it....

Although cosmetically challenged, the integrity of his car is fine, and more importantly, Scott is fine. He said he wasn't even sore the next day!
