Help get a new race track started!
John Condren is working on getting Riverside Motorsports Park built here in California. They need our help with contacting the officials below as to why it is so important to build it. Hope you can all help! "To all the Friends of Riverside Motorsports Park - I am pleased to announce that on Friday, 4 November, the Merced County Planning Department released our project's Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the required 45-day public review and comment period. Hardbound copies of the EIR are available from Merced County for $165 per copy (3,200 pages, including all appendices). Or, a CD-ROM is available from the County for free (one per person). Finally, the entire EIR is available in PDF-format on the County's website (http://web.co.merced.ca.us/planning/ceqareports.html) for review. (Please allow 6 days for uninterrupted reading.) I encourage all to write a support letter, fax or e-mail asking Merced County to approve the Riverside Motorsports Park project. Letters need not be long or detailed; however, the identification of one or more key benefits of the project with each letter, fax or e-mail would make for stronger support. Sample letters can be accessed or reviewed on the RMP website (www.RMPracing.com). Contact information for the two responsible officials is: Merced County Board of Supervisors Mr. Jerry O’Banion, Chairman Merced County Board of Supervisors 2222 M Street – Third Floor Merced, CA 95340 e-mail: dist5@co.merced.ca.us Fax: (209) 726-7977 And… Merced County Planning Commission Mr. Steve Sloan, Chairman Merced County Planning Commission 2222 M Street – Second Floor Merced, CA 95340 e-mail: klewallen@co.merced.ca.us Fax: (209) 726-1710 All the best - John Condren CEO" |
Sounds good Dave,
Can you share any info concerning your rumor of a Temecula or was it a So Cal area track? Was that the lake Elsinore proposal? Any updates? P.S. chop top, like Alain Jamar? My tub was once his.;) |
Thanks John, I just emailed both of them.

It will never happen. Arnold has added the PCA to his list of special interest groups.

Temecula track/ Lake Elsinore- one and the same. A guy named Bowlsby, if i remember correctly, had a site with track map, pics of a formula ford grid next to a captioned paragraph on "Formula One Racing comes to Southern California" I even had tracked him down to discuss it : He knew nothing about racing. I think he was either the land owner or an entrepeneur looking to make this "Racing community"
A lot of smoke and mirrors! RMP on the other hand is real- the principals have spent years of their own money and time to get it going. I am sure they will have a "clean air hummer" track for our illustrious arnold to play on too (wink- wink!) |
