Ferrari F50 caliper and lotus twin turbo caliper...

Cheers

Chris - are you able to special order 01 compound for 930 calipers, and if so, how much would these run? I am running 97 compound now but would like 01 in the rear to help improve brake bias.

Chris,

There is a rumour going on at Rennlist that these pads have been discontinued. Any truth to that?

PF97's discontinued? I haven't heard that, but I'll definitely look into it. Left a message for my rep regarding possible discontinue of any of the old porsche plates.

I can get anything available from PFC, haven't done many special-order items but I can look into that, as I've been wanting to try 01's on my car to see if there was a difference. I should have something on that this afternoon as well.

Jeff, I think those would be the 7780 plates and the 395 plates right?

Got 'em! Anyone else interested, please contact me offsite as I don't want to clutter up Waynes site with outside bidness....

OK, let us know Chris. It wouldn't surprise me if that was just a rumour. You know how the Rennlist Track forum is....

Jeff,

There are two choices, each have their own compromises of course.

A number of the local guys here have been using the 97's on their dual-use cars. Obviously since these are a race pad there will be some downsides on the street. Some people have experienced squeeking (not all, no common denominator that I can see), and cold performance isn't as good as a full street pad.

They also make what they call a Z-rated pad for "Severe and high performance" duty. These will be better for the street without squeeking and better cold performance, but at the hottest track temps they will not last as long, more dust, more input required. These aren't available in as many of the exotic applications as the PF97's including the GTP calipers.

The 7780 for example is available in the 93, 97, 01, 03, and 05 compounds but not at all in the Z-rated. The 0345 is available in Carbon Metallic, Z-rated, and 97 compound.

FYI there is no truth to the rumor that the 97 compound is being phased out for the Porsche pads. (My rep said he's been inundated with this question lately) This may have been started because there is probably a NEW compound coming out, but it is going to be different so the 97 will remain.

Still waiting on the PFC0345.01 avaialbility.

Chris, I believe they are 0595 rear and 7780 front. The Pagid #'s are 1408 rear and 1287 front...

Cheers

Jeff,

Your option with PFC's is the 97 or 01 compound. The 97 would be suitable for dual use with the above caveats.
